Meet some of the team at St Mark's...

We have a lot going on at St Mark's, so we rely on a dedicated team of ministers and volunteers to make things happen!

Here are some of the team and what they get up to at St Mark's:

Priest in Charge: Rev'd Dr Rae Caro

Rev'd Rae served her curacy as part of the MINE team in Byker and Walker, before being licensed here in June 2021. As well as being our Priest in Charge, she is Mission Enabler for New Estates in Tynemouth Deanery.

Fr Jim served as Vicar of St Peter's, Monkseaton, becoming an Honorary Canon, and subsequently moved to Whittingham in Northumberland where he was Area Dean of Alnwick, before coming to Shiremoor where he has been equally busy!

Canon Jim Robertson
Church Warden: Tricia Rook

Tricia is one of our Churchwardens, and was confirmed at St Mark's after moving here from the South East. Tricia is one of the leaders of our popular "Late Create" craft group, and is also one of our "Winged Lions" leaders on a Sunday morning.

We are looking for a new Parish Safeguarding Officer. If you have any concerns about a young person or a vulnerable adult please contact Rev'd Rae, one of the Church Wardens or Carol Butler at the Diocese of Newcastle.

Safeguarding: Vacant
Church Warden: Olive Tremble
Sacristan: Alice McNab

Alice looks after the sacristy and makes sure that everything is ready for services at St Mark's. She also runs our dedicated team of altar servers, as well as being a leader at "Winged Lions" and helping at the regular Tuesday lunch club in the church hall.

Organist: Andrew Soulsby

Andrew is our regular organist and works with our singing group for big services. He has a huge wealth of experience from shows to cathedrals, and is also an accomplished teacher based in Whitley Bay at 1685 Piano and Harpsichord Tuition.
